Old Testament Prophecies Concerning Jesus

Prophecies of Jesus the Christ

Prophecies are one of the most convincing forms of evidence that Jesus was the Christ.

In the Old Testament we have evidence of the pre-existence of Jesus from the creation account (Genesis 3:13-15). This is referenced again in John 1:1. There are also hundreds of prophecies which predicted the Messiah and different aspects of his coming. Alfred Edersheim (1825-1889) was convinced of the validity of the Christ based on Jesus’ fulfillment of the 456 passages in the Old Testament that he outlined in his work The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah[i].
